Ala @ Shanghai Day 4

--Jade Buddha Temple 玉佛寺--
Took a taxi to the temple which was located at Putuo district. The main attraction here is to see the jade buddhas which were carved out from one piece of jade.

Da Xiong Bao Dian. (the main hall)

This is the only jade buddha which i was allowed to take pic. There's another one upstairs, in the sitting position. The other buddha's jade is fine green in colour..very different from this one.
"Religious Article Shop"? Sounds odd to me..
There are lots of "portraits" hung up on the walls here..didn't take a closer look at them though.
The buddhas at the main hall.
Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva behind the three big buddhas in the main hall.
Went to their canteen to have little snack while E.W had her lunch. Not as big as I thought..their desserts have milk or stuffs in them...which I wondered why.

Duolun rd is located next to North Sichuan rd, another shopping area in northern part of Shanghai (Hongkou district). Walked to the next junction, we found ourselves just outside our next destination, Lu Xun Park.
--Tang Cha Hui 唐茶会--
Before continuing to our next destination, we had a rest at this cafe... It's main menu isn't really on coffee, but more on drinks and ice whirls.
Nice interior design..
E.W & I had our Citron ice whirl while Aunt Jo had her blackcurrent ice whirl. The citron smell really nice and reminded me of my fav Korean Citron tea. Hoho.
--Lu Xun Park 鲁迅公园--
The South entrance to the park. This entrance is the nearest to the Lu Xun memorial hall.

Lu Xun memorial hall. Dunno since when the admission fee was wavied. That's a gd news though. Just walk to the counter and get the free admin tix and u can get in liao. Couldn't take pix la...there were lots of Lu Xun's novel and handwritten stuffs in the museum. Also, there's wax figures of Lu Xun and a few others having a discussion, 11 days before Lu Xun passed away. We also got to see a video on Lu Xun's funeral and the relocation of his tomb. On the ground floor, there's another exhibition of Lu Xun's wife, Xie Guang Ping.
Lu Xun Statue at the ground floor.
Hongkou football stadium is just next to the park...there's also 2 metro lines here.

Lu Xun and his friend?
This is Lu Xun's tomb. His tomb was relocated to this present site in 1956.
The inscription on the wall was written by Mao Zedong.
--Qu Yang rd Carrefour--
F&E is the time when I have to walk n metres/km to reach the next destination. Surprisingly, I am not that tired after so much walking. But i can't imagine myself walking such a far dist back in sg. Lolz! As I don't want to risk taking buses which i am not familiar, we cld only walk to Qu Yang rd lo. Actually it's not far from Lu Xun park on map...but u know the dist is really much longer than we see on map. Hahaha! The carrefour was much smaller compared to walmart. Luckily didn't bring Tuan to shop here. But we did found something for Tuan though...didn't waste a trip.
--Raffles City--
We are back at Food Republic for our dinner.
Super cheap salmon & beef steak with vegs & egg, plus rice and soup...for 20 plus rmb. However, i had a hard time eating the beef steak, just tasted & looked diff from what we have in sg and the salmon filet...had bones inside! Tiring leh...
Aunt Jo's niu du wok...not sure about other ingredients inside..it's really cheap also.
--East Nanjing Rd--
Aunt Jo wanna buy stuffs..so we're back here again.
Shanghai Fashion store..didn't check it out tho.
Shanghai No.1 Food store...flooded with humans!! I got to see lots of mooncakes here...and u cld buy dried mushrooms and stuffs in here too. But i dun think it's that cheap. If you're hungry, there are stalls selling food inside too. Amazing...but it's simply too crowded to stay inside for too long.
A mega thermometer above the Giordano store. Not very cold leh!
