Ala @ Shanghai Day 5

--Morning--
Well, initially i wanna cover "Qi Bao Ancient Town" today la..but E.W & Aunt Jo didn't seem to be interested, plus the dist wasn't near. So, we had a slacky day 5. Lolz.
Went to KFC to have my breakfast..didn't realised i ordered a pork burger with egg. Tasted quite different...may be i nv tried pork burger b4 la..have to get used to it. Their KFC breakfast menu was really quite cool, dunno why ours are so boring. Their strimp popiah was quite delicious. Also, i enjoyed non-stop canto music during my time in KFC. So Shanghainese also likes cantopop lo? Cool.
--East Nanjing Road--
The authentic car and trishaw beside Yong An Dept store.
Italian restaurant in a old tram...i shld have tried it.
--Tuan's Hostel--
Before reaching her hostel, we had a long "journey" travelling there. E.W was saying it's ex to take taxi to her place from our hotel. So take mrt lo. If i know we had to walk so long at Shanghai Train station...i wld definitely choose line 8 and take a cab. Basically, we took line 1 to Shanghai train station, and wanna change to line 3. Who knows, line 3&4's station were so far away, though they are connected to line 1's station by underground. There were tons of ppl with luggages and u can imagine the long queues just to purchase a metro card. What's more? Their metro system is really diff from ours. The card we used for line 1 cld nt be used for line 3. That means, we have to get out of the station, walked over to line 3's station and purchase the card again. So conclusion is...go and buy a transportation card (like our ezlink) if u're gg to use their metro frequently. Our journey hasn't end ah..finally we decided to give up taking line 3 and take a cab instead. Walked out of the station, and we found ourselves at a small road. Saw signs showing where to board buses and taxis..but u know how far we need to walk there? Lolz..fainted. Finally we reached a main road after walking n mins under the hot sun. Took a cab, and the taxi driver very bo liao leh. He expect me to recognise the road which i had only been once ah? Wah lao eh...then he thought that i was forgetful. I actually wanna tell him the other taxi driver took another way to reach the hostel. But i am lazy to bother with him la...diaoz.
Tuan's room...neat & clean. Hehe!
--Ajisen @ Wujiaochang--
Didn't know where we wanna go, so went to Wujiachang to have our lunch first. Oh their ajisen is bloody cheap! They got so much to offer on their menu lo...It's a must-eat if u come to Shanghai k?
Aunt Jo's kumamoto ramen.. (can't rmb the names)
This..u can't find in SG...My calms ramen....
Tuan's scallap ramen...
Our side dishes..
So, 3 bowls of ramen, plus 2 plates of side dish, and 4 drinks...only costed us 173 rmb, that is ard 35 sgd only. With this amt, i can only afford 2 set lunches in sg sia.
Their menu also have special set meals like 2 bowls of ramens with a side dish, cost abt 73 rmb. However, u dun have a choice to choose the ramen or side dish la.
Went to the "Shanghai Book City" branch...and read a shanghai guide book. I think the info is new ah...now no need entrance fee to visit museum. (not cfm ah...) So, E.W asked if we wanna go....
--People's Square--
We reached Shanghai Museum at 4 plus, but too late to enter la. So, it's a wasted trip. But I am still happy to take a pic of the museum which has a shape of an ancient bronze ding.
The Shanghai Grand Theatre.
Backview of the museum.
Shanghai City Govt office.
City view.
City view 2.
--Bakerzin @ Raffles City--
I've nv step into Bakerzin in SG before...but what attracted us was the high tea set @ 38rmb (abt 7.8 sgd). That's really cheap!
My ice coffee...i think i shld have ordered the hot one..lolz~!
Mum's veg sandwich.
Our high tea set....quite delicious.
--Aftermath--
Have to return to hotel by 7.30pm. So we sent Tuan off at the metro station. The driver then drived us to Pudong Int'l airport...which is really quite far away. Waited for quite sometime to check in our luggage...lots of Chinese nationals again. There's hardly anything to shop at the departure area, no comps to use also. Cld only sit down and wait...
11.55pm, took MU543 back to SG. There were quite a few turbulences on our way back, didn't feel comfortable. Haiz...I really dun wan to sit on MU again. We didn't have a proper meal on plane...what we had? Light snacks! Wah very sianz leh..paid so much but that's only what we got?! I only finished up a muachi & a a big bar of kit-kat. Saw lots of stars too....long time didn't see liao...it wld be better if the sky was full of stars. Ha!
4.40am...reached T3. Our airport is really efficient...our luggages were already out when we reached the belts. Pudong really have to catch up.
Call me bias...but i really feel so happy when i saw our carpeted terminal, glassy gates (waiting rooms) and nice bright lightings...it's just made me so comfortable sia. Changi is really one of my fav places in SG. Hehe!
I bet Tuan wld feel the same when she return next Jan.
--Thoughts--
Honestly, I didn't feel excited at all for this trip. Two things that affected me were...1st of all, d-day is coming...lolz. 2ndly, Tuan is leaving us again. Though she wld be back for her vacations, 4 yrs...are still a great amt of time. Of coz, i still get to see her everyday thru msn or webcam, but it's just sianz to have 3 ppl at home. Haha!
As for Shanghai...impression was nt bad, though Shanghainese are not that friendly. Also, i got to see ppl who dun like to lock the doors when they were using the toilets. I dun like their traffic and transportation system...horrible. (so we get to appreciate what our govt has done for us..we're really spoilt by govt liao la. Lolz!)
I am quite contented la..i have wanted to visit Shanghai ever since I went to Beijing. I wanna see China's biggest city. Hmm....Now the next destination I wanna go is Hainan lo, but no more China in the near future...Lolz!
