안녕하세요! Korea! Day 3

--Jeju Pacific Hotel--
My 2nd day on Jeju-do. Jeju Pacific hotel had a Egyptian theme? It's not very obvious from the building itself, but...
it's quite obvious on the lift. The interior and exterior of the lifts were full of Egyptian prints.
--Seongsan Sunrise Peak 城山日出峰--
Alright, we didn't go there early enough to watch sun rise. Haha! Anyway, the weather was cloudy and slightly foggy too.
The "entrance" area...Jeju is famous for having lots of rocks. Not surprising to see them here.
Purple flowers~
Seongsan Sunrise Peak is actually a volcano crater with vertical cliffs rising from the shore. As the easternmost tip of Jeju Island, this area is the first to greet each day's new sun, thus earning the name of "Sunrise Peak." Initially, I thought it would not be that tough to climb up the crater, but I was damn wrong. Haiz..didn't train up my stamina. Plus, there were lots of students here, so there's lots of noises and I cld hardly have a proper rest. The stairway was quite steep, and narrow...and I started panting before the halfway mark! Tsk tsk...terrible~
There's a Buddhist temple at the foot of the crater.
View of the island as I climbed up. There were lots of coastal landscapes at the nearby area.
A little disappointed with the view of the crater. It was covered by vegetations now, nothing really "spectacular" la.
However, the size of the crater was quite big.
Walking down the stairs was another challenge for me. May be my legs were really tired, I walked down slowly coz' I felt that I wld missed a step anytime. Lolz! Another famous thing abt Jeju was its strong winds....and I got to experience that. You cld feel the wind pushing you foward as u walked down the slope. I'm not kidding leh...u cld feel yourself walking faster & faster. There's light drizzle by the time I reached the foot of the crater.
--Jetboat ride--
Our next stop was jetboat ride! I had not sat in a jetboat every since my Thailand trip in 1995. Haha! Anyway, we had to wear life jackets and rain coats before stepping in la. Highlight of the ride was the 360 degrees rotation. It was really fun, but the feeling of sea water splashing onto my face was terrible. (Sea water damn salty la~) Our faces were red by the time we reached the pier. Very painful lo! Chiong toilet to wash my face. Lolz!
Our jetboat did went closeup to this cliff...very nice view from the jetboat, but I didn't bring cam along. So, took a pic of it on land.
Oh my~nice flowers again!
--Tangerine Farm--
It started to drizzle again by the time we reached the farm. June is not the season for tangerines, but we do get to see some real ones. Haha!
Small, tiny & green tangerines~
Ha..there're very few big orangy tangerines left in the farm. The others were fake ones hung onto the trees.
Ah ha~ Saw Dolharubangs again.
What caught our attention in the farm were not tangerines, but these boxes of Jeju specialties. The pink colour ones were Catus crunch choco, and the other box got some jeju chocolates with different flavours.
--Lunch--
This was perhaps one of my favourite meals in the trip. Marinated black pork bbq! This is also my first time eating traditional korean bbq with lettuce leaves. Super yummy!
After our meal, we continue our trip to Seogwipo City, which is located on the south of the island.
--Jeju Mini Mini Land 小人国--
Jeju Mini Mini land, a.k.a "Soingook Miniature Park", was our 3rd stop. This was my 2nd visit to miniature park since my first in Thailand (1995). Basically, the stuffs inside were nothing new to me la, and some of the "artifacts" were not nicely done. Also, the drizzling continued, but we got to experienced "umbrellas battling with the super strong winds". So I had a little hard time taking pics in such a weather. Haha! I have picked the better ones to share with you guys.

The map of Jeju-do and the attraction on the island. The island is very big ne~
On our way to the waterfall, saw this "中文面牺牲者慰灵碑". But I did not know what it was really about...
Cheonjeyeon waterfall is actually a three-tier waterfall. This is the 2nd waterfall...and we didn't go to the first one..what a pity~ Cheonjeyeon means Pond of the Heaven's Emperor. According to Korean legend, nymphs would descend from the heavens at night and bathe in the waterfall's pond.
Crystal clear water~~
Lots of huge rocks too...
View from Seonimgyo Bridge (仙临桥).
Jeju got strong winds, so we got to see windmill on different parts of the island.
View from Seonimgyo Bridge.
Fountain of five blessings.
天帝楼.
This is the wall depicting the tale of the 7 nymphs bathing in the pond.
Seonimgyo Bridge. There are 14 nymphs, 7 on each side with each nymph about 20 m in length. All the nymphs are playing their own musical instruments.
--Yeomiji Botanical Garden--
On our way to the Teddy Bear Museum, passed by the entrance of the botanical garden. Lots of luxury taxis waiting there.
--Jeju Teddy Bear Museum--
People who had watched "Goong" wld be familiar with this place.
We went to the first gallery called "The History". U wld get to see this bear in all the main exhibits. Haha! As usual, I have picked the more impt ones to share with u all.

Went to the gift shop to complete one of my missions, while I bought a "Worry Doll Teddy Bear" which was featured in "Goong S". However, Tuan said it's ugly. Sobbzzz~
--O'sulloc Tea Museum --
O'sulloc is run by Amore Pacific, and it's Korea's first exhibtion place that offers tea-drinking experience to vistors. Basically, the tea planation area was damn huge. I wondered what's the total land area it covered. Korea is surprisingly, not a tea-drinking nation. Their tea leaves grade are not as good as those in China or Japan.
To the museum~
Tea culture exhibtion.
Not alot of stuffs on display though.
O'sulloc Hall. This is the place for tea class.
Preparing tea for us~ The tea tasted average...
They sell scents too.
Open the bottle lid and u can smell the tea and various fruits & flowers together. It's their fushion tea.
They also sell body care products.
Their "cheesecake" and green tea ice cream were famous. The "cheesecake" is actually swissroll with cheese filling. I liked the cake as the it didn't taste very cheesy. However, I didn't like the ice cream la, didn't like the taste of bitter green tea.
While waiting for the ladies who went to the restroom....took a pic of this flower.
The tea plantations.
--Dinner--
Dinner for the day was seafood hotpot. I realised that Korean restaurants only served plain water for free. Not sure if it's for healthy reasons, or they didn't want to offer soft drinks for free. Lolz!
Interesting flowers outside the restaurant.
--Jeju Jungang Underground Shopping Mall--
There's still some spare time after we returned to our hotel. So we walked down to check out the underground mall. Basically, it's nothing near to our City Link. Most of the shops sell clothings & shoes la. Saw some major korean brands for skincare & cosmetic products. Hehe. They gave more free gifts than those branches in Seoul lo!
--Thoughts--
Well, I had been using mandarin to order food or speak to salesperson during my stay in Jeju. Did not feel like I was in Korea. Hahaha! However, their english standards were not very good la, hardly heard of any speaking fluent english. (So if u want to discuss within yourselves, don't speak in mandarin ah~) Haha!
