안녕하세요! Korea! Day 6

--Yangji Pine Resort--
View of Dokjosan & the golf course from balcony.
--Everland Theme park 爱宝乐园--
We were back in Yong-in city where Everland was located. Everland is operated by Samsung, and it's South Korea's largest theme park. (Now u know that Samsung is bloody rich~lol!) Besides the main theme park area, Everland also got a water theme park called "Caribbean Bay" which only opens in the summer, the park also has hostels, an art museum & a golf club. Everland also hosts a wide range of festivals through the year with different themes. I was lucky enough to catch the last week of "Flower Carnival" which wld be replaced by "Summer Splash" after 7/6.
Entrance to the park. As expected, there were tons of students here. Luckily it's a Friday, can't imagine the crowd on weekends lo.
There are 5 major areas in the themepark. The first area where everybody gotta pass through is Global Fair, which consist of restaurants and many gift shops.
"One Day Pass" entrance tix on E.W's hand.

The first scary ride to greet u in American Adventure area was the "Double Rock Spin". It's quite fun to watch la, but not for the weak-hearted. Lolz!
We took a cable car down to Zoo-Topia area. Compared to our Sentosa Luge, the cable car ride was not steep..so no kick la. Everland's latest and craziest ride, "T Express" could be seen too. It's South Korea's largest roller coaster, and it's wooden coaster sia! The whole ride takes about 3-4 mins to complete...omg~! If u can't feel how "big" the roller coaster is, go click the pic for the large view.
Flowers~~~~~
"Space Tour" is the place where u get to see 4D picture with Everland characters. It's an attraction in European Adventure. (Ok, I regretted for skipping it...arrgghh!)
"Alpine Village" at European Adventure.
Our first attraction was "Safari World" at Zoo-Topia. The safari is the only mixed safari in the world where u can see rare white tigers, lions and bears altogether in one place. This is the entrance for us to get on the safari bus. It's quite a long wait, but luckily we're still early la, so the queue was not tt unbearable.
In the safari bus!
Miss Lion~
and Mr. Lion.
Eh....there's Mr. Elephant.
They have got quite a number of giraffes.
White tiger. Our zoo also has white tigers ba, so it's nothing new to me. Haha!
Another lion couple.
oh...and a Tiger couple.
Mr Leopard.
The new stuff for me is really..the bears. Hehe!
I think all the bears were trained to do various pose etc. They're cute.
Wow...stand up position!
After "Safari World", we were free to roam about by ourselves. Initially wanna play "Amazon Express", but I scared my clothes wld kena wet. Lolz! (I think I shld have just go n queue la!! Coz' in the end I hardly got to play any rides...so sianz!) We continued to visit other attractions in Zoo-Topia (basically it's a zoo itself).
Ok...I didn't note down the names again. Paiseh ah.
Jackass penguins.
Owl. (Forgot which species...)
Three white owls~
A very large sea seal!
Polar bears. There were two Korean girls throwing mini ice cream into the pool lo...and their parents didn't do anything!
Another Mr. Lion~
Not sure of the breed of the monkeys, but their fur was rather shiny.
Another breed of monkeys.
I wondered why they wanna put a sea seal in the same enclosure as the monkeys above.
Iguana.
Another Iguana.
Very big tortoise.
If I didn't rmb wrongly, this shld be the meerkats.

Porcupines.
The ticketing area for "T express", the queue was bloody long la. Sobbbzz...
Initially wanna go "Alpine Food Fair" for lunch, but the food was not that appealing. But I think we made another mistake again. We went to "Burger Cafe Garden" to eat fast-food. Ended up we waited ages for our "slow-food" to come. I seriously wondered why they took so long to make burgers?? I shld have tahan the heat and ate at other outdoor restaurants instead ah. Haiz~
Home Bridge Hostel from afar. May be we shld have visited the "Rose Garden" too.
E.W was interested to visit the "Spooky Fun House" at Magic Land (the attracions here were for kiddos.) I thought it's another ghost house la. Ya right...it's a ghost house for KIDS! Damn! So no kick lo...not scary at all, and we still need to press all sorts of buttons to light up the stuffs. Lame la.
We walked back to American Adventure to check out the rides. Main reason why I hardly played any was due to time constraint. Couldn't spend time queuing la. Haiz... This is "Let's Twist", looked fun ne.
I wld never forgot my experience with "Hurricane" back in SG. Haha. It's more fun than pirate ship la, but it's damn scary la. Haha!
This was the only game E.W & I played & it's "Championship Rodeo". I had played this b4 in SG la, so not much kick too, but heck la. Need to play at least a game ma. Lolz!
Lots of nice roses...
Red rose.
Ah Ha! I spotted Lee Min Ho again! Lolz...He's also the spokesperson for "Etude House". E.W bought their "Rich Butter Hand & Heel cream" set, with two tubes of the cream & hand masks at W18,000 (S$21). If we have known tt the stuffs selling in SG were so ex, we wld have bought more in Korea la! Haha!
--Dongdaemun & Cheonggyecheon Stream 东大门和清溪川--
We returned to Seoul, and we went to Dongdaemun area.
Roadside stall selling various street-food.
This is "Cheonggyecheon Stream". It's a nearly 6 km long, modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul. I know the place wld be nicer at night with the street lighting. But it's a pity that my hotel was not located nearby for me to check it out again.
The building is "Pyounghwa Clothing Mkt", which is a place for ajummas to buy cheap clothing. Hahaha!
Not sure if that is the "Dongdaemun" gate.
We walked down to the underground mall first, the shops were alright, lots of fake branded goods cld be found. Went up and it's the street food, with whole row of roadside stalls, selling identical food. Haha! Initially, Aunt Jo was excited to try the food, but after she saw the stuffs, she sian liao. Hahaha! We walked back to the main shopping area, which was just across the road.
Come to Korea, definitely gotta try "Ddeokbokki" la. It's ard S$3 a bowl, nt cheap. However, the rice cake was really chewy la. Moshisoyo~
The shopping malls here were the places for youngsters to shop. "Doota" is one of them. Among the 3 malls at Dongdaemun, the standard of the shops in "Doota" was at least mid-range & above. That means, the stuffs inside were not cheap.
This the one of the basement floors. I think the clothes here were slightly cheaper than those upstairs.
Shops on the ground floor. The shops were nicely decorated, and the clothes were not bad. I found a shop selling very nice long blouses, but I could not try on the clothes. Haiz~
The 2nd mall we visited was "Milgore".
The standard here was very different from "Doota" la. So it's a better place to shop if u really wanna find cheap clothing. I would not say that the stuffs were dirt cheap though. Most of the long shirts were sold at W10,000 (S$11). Most of the other clothings shld be abt S$20-S$50 ba.
The third mall we went was "Hello apm". The stalls looked similar to those in "Milgore", but I think the clothings here were slightly better than "Milgore" la. I bought a checkered blouse for W21,000 (S$24.7). This price was after bargaining lo. So actually, the original price shld be ard 30 bucks ba. That's why I thought the prices here were almost similar to SG la, it's just that we might not be able to find the clothes back at home.
Conclusion: Actually many stores sold similar/identical clothings in "Hellp apm" & "Milgore". Ppl who wanna do some serious shopping need to check out the prices. As for me, I thought that their clothing range was limited, may be it's just like what Aenee-sshi said, "Koreans like to do similar biz together". Haha! (There were very few shops selling "out of the box" clothings in the two malls. U cld easily find them as the shopkeepers put more effort in decorating/designing their stores.) If u cld afford more, then go "Doota" la. Ha!
Cerestar Deparment Store. Hardly any souls inside.
Time to leave Dongdaemun, passed by this govt building with a nice park.
--Dinner--
Dinner for the day was Ginseng Chicken Soup with glutinous rice stuffed inside the chicken. Hmm...I wld prefer the rice not to be inside the chicken. Haha! That's why "Ginseng Chicken" was not one of my fav. Korean dishes.
Our hotel was located at Gangnam district. Generally, the area south of the river was referred as "Gangnam" (江南), and this is a place for the very rich. View of sunset from Hangang (汉江).
--Seoul Imperial Palace Hotel--
Once u stepped into the hotel, the 1st thing u saw was not the lobby, but the lounge. It's just weird, as the lobby was really small as compared to the lounge la. 5 Stars said the hotel was 6 stars, but it's actually just a 5 star la. The hotel looked very grand from all sides, but not the room, which was 4 stars rating to me.
Our bedroom with limited lights. Haha. I thought we shld have more lamps rather than mirrors! U know there were how many mirros in the room? Just the room itself, at least 4. Plus the two big ones in the toilet, that makes it 6. OMG! There's one super big mirror just beside the bathtub, so u cld have a good look at urself when u're bathing. Hahaha! Other strange stuffs include the location of the toilet paper, which was under the sink! (Toilet paper 见不得人 ah~); the odd furniture arrangements. We did not have a proper 梳妆台 as a lamp and the LCD TV took the entire space of the table. There's another big table & 2 chairs beside the cabinets, and they took up another space. Our room was already small, but thanks to the furnitures, it became cramped, with our luggage. The only good thing was probably the beds. Lolz!
