안녕하세요! Korea! Day 5

--Seorak Hanwha Resort--
Basically, I only got to see the scenery and the resort clearing this morning. (Well, it was pitch-dark when I reached the previous day...)
View from the balcony.
On my way to have breakfast, saw this vending machine selling boxes of biscuits & candies near the lift area.
View of Mount Seorak (雪岳山).
View of the condos in Hanhwa Resort.
The walkway to the restaurant where breakfast was served.
The map of our 1st destination of the day...Waterpia, which was located in the resort.
Posters of SBS sageuk drama "Princess Ja Myung Go".
Macro shot of mosaic tiles of a water feature in the main lobby.
View of Mount Seorak from lobby area.
Waterpia was 3 mins away by foot. Hot steam coming out from the ground.
After my "bathroom culture shock" in Yunnan, Ah Ching didn't feel sua gu to see nude woman walking ard the changing room area anymore. Haha! Yeah...that's the culture in Korea too. But well, we didn't get to see many nude ladies la...lolz! The good thing was, there were changing rooms provided, so I have nothing to worry about. Ha! But well, there's still a problem, the shower area didn't have doors!!! There were only shower divders lo. So u know that I didn't have a proper bath. After E.W was done, Ah Ching went to toilet to change. Phew~
Basically, there were internal and external pools inside la. External pools include various spa pools, and a swimming pool. Basically we tried out all the external spa pools and changed to another one every 5 mins. Luckily, we were there earlier and cld enjoyed the facilities by ourselves before the local students flooded in.
Before I go, brought my cam in and took some pics of Waterpia. View from the dining area.
Indoor pools.
This is the wave pool! Quite fun eh~
The swimming pool.
E.W bought some "maple bread" before we returned to our rooms. There were two types. One of them was in the shape of maple leaf, and there were different flavours la. The other one had a nicer packaging, but the bread was in circular shape, and there's only one flavour. Ah Ching has been eating them for breakfast for the past 1 wk~hoho!
--Lunch--
We left the resort at 12.30p.m and had our lunch at a small restaurant in Sokcho. These were the side dishes and seaweed soup.
Main dish was pork & cuttlefish bbq. (The pic above was the uncooked meat.)
Flowers outside the restaurant.
View from the restaurant. I think the mountain range was still Mount Seorak ba.
--Sheep Farm--
Seriously, I didn't know the name of the farm. But after checking online, I think the farm was probably "Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm" in Pyeong-chang County. Anyway, the farm area was known as Hoenggye 3-ri.
Gangwon specialty potatoes. The guy holding the plates was Gwang-nam. Haha..
The sheep. The sheep farm was very different from what i had expected. I didn't get to see much green pastures. From what I saw from the web, the farm was very beautiful during winter time. Anyway, I didn't get to explore the entire farm la.

Happily eating~
I never liked to see sheep shearing, because I always felt that they were very rough to the sheep. Saw how they dragged and tied the sheep up for the "performance". The best part was, they only sheared part of the sheep leh! That's horrible~ I had watched sheep shearing in Perth too, and the Aussies didn't tie the sheeps up, though they were equally tough to them. But at least, they sheared the sheep's wool totally.

The sheep were afraid of the sheep dog~hehe!
Half of the grp went for horse riding, while the rest of us attended the "Cheese-making session" at Hoenggye 2-ri. The teacher was a very friendly Korean ajumma.
The kiddos picked the cherry flavour...good choice.
In the process of making cheese.
Pressed hard!
Free House Wine wor~As usual, I disliked the taste of red wine. Lolz!
Tada~The cheese was finally done. Well, it's not really the cheese we normally know la. This was more like milk-cheese? It had a very milky taste instead of the cheesy one. Thus, most of us didn't like it. I'm fine with the taste though.
Together with the corn crackers, the cheese tasted better.
Last activity in the farm was the ATV ride. It was quite fun, but the area was too small to chiong la. Also, there were puddles of muddy water here & there, couldn't chiong all the way. Haiz~
--Woljeongsa, Odaesan National Park 月精寺, 五台山国立公园--
We went to visit Woljeongsa, which was located on the eastern slopes of Odaesan in Pyeong-chang County.
View of the river stream.
View of Odaesan from the bridge.
The entrance to the temple, 天正门.
A hall in the temple.
Woljeongsa Buddhist University.
The temple's museum.
U can buy a piece of the tile and write your wishes.
Basically, Korean Buddhist temples were very different in terms of architecture and design. They didn't have a very big main hall like other Asian temples. Instead, the buildings were seperated out and each of them housed statues of various Bodhisattvas. I really liked the environment of Woljeongsa, it's really a peaceful & serene place for meditation etc.
They have a tradition to wash your hands and clean yourself up with the water here.
钟鼓楼.
The nine-storey pagoda in front of the main hall was a representation of the many-angled, many-storied stupas of the Koryo Period.
Another hall.
The main hall 寿光殿. We had to enter the hall through the side gates, which was at the corner end of the hall. Actually, that's what we do back at home too, but it's not a compulsory practice yet.
Interesting paintings at the side of 地藏殿.
Interesting structure at the hall near the entrance.
Paintings of the Buddha's story.
Flower~~~
This is the "three leaf clover", with heart-shaped leaves!
Nice flowers again.
Not quite sure what were the rocks for....
If I rmbed correctly, the bridge was called 金刚桥. It was located outside the temple.
Time for a greenery walk. The air was so fresh & the weather was cooling. Perfect for a nice walk with a fantastic view of the vegetation and river.

Korea really has got lots of pretty & interesting flowers!
The river~

Another view of the river from the bridge.
Scenery at the coach waiting area.
--Dinner--
Another restaurant where I got to take off my shoes and sat on floor mats for my meal. This dinner was not very delicious to me, though it's something different. It's steamed chicken & potatoes hotpot.
Flower outside the restaurant.

Farming area beside the restaurant.
View of some traditional Korean houses in the village.
--Journey to the resort--
It's another 2.5 hours ride to our final destination of the day, Yangji Pine Resort in Gyeonggi-do. Took the sunset pic in the bus.
--Yangji Pine Resort--
Reached the resort ard 8 plus. The resort was located in the Dokjosan Mountains.
The living room was so much bigger than Hanwha. There were 2 bathrooms too, one beside the kitchen while the other one was in the bedroom. We had problems with our first room as the air-con auto switched off, and the situation was still the same after we called their staff. So, they offered us another room on the 7th storey. The design of the room was the same, but......
We got a western bed in the bedroom!!! Aunt Jo must be damn happy la. Haha! But poor E.W & me still gotta slp on the floor lo~ The mattress was much harder than the one at Hanwha.
